The Inventive Process:

Early 1990’s 

  • Randall Cornfield, as a person on-the-go, while trying to make a quick meal, discovers the Steamcooking ™ method. After many experiments, ultimately is able to repeat the process, writing the very first recipes.
  • Randall then meets Christopher Hrushowy who has a long history in cookware manufacturing and Marketing, at the Chicago Housewares Show. The two meet a few weeks later in Chris’s office in Toronto. During the meeting, Randall reveals a desire to develop his invention and the two eventually partner.

Late 1990’s

  • Randall & Chris, operating as International Cooking Systems with a prototype and recipes start to present the idea to many cookware manufacturers.
  • After many close attempts the story includes

    • Randall hand makes first samples in a Mexican manufacturer.
    • A presentation to Tupperware in Chris’s living room.
    • With their successful Royal Diamond infomercial Regal becomes interested in the Turbo Cooker ®.
    • Regal introduces the partners to National Media.
    • National Media leads to two companies, Kent & Spiegel & Good Time Entertainment GT.
    • GT doesn’t return the call but K&S does.
    • K&S leads to meeting Cathy Mitchell.
    • Lamex leads to Royal Manufacturing who untimely manufactures the very first production.
